Compassionate Memory Care for Your Loved Ones

At The Village of Harmony Hill, we understand the unique journey of seniors living with Alzheimer's disease and related dementias. Our approach to care is built on a foundation of dignity, respect, and compassion, tailored to each individual's needs.

Our memory care environment is designed to nurture and engage. Residents have secure access to a 1/3 acre memory garden, offering a chance to reconnect with nature in a space specifically designed for their safety and enjoyment. Each memory care studio apartment is fully accessible, featuring generous views of our gardens, courtyards, and prairie, ensuring comfort and a sense of connection to the outdoors.

Interactive Fun for Memory Care

One tool we use with our memory care residents is the Tovertafel, or "magic table." The technology uses captivating light projections to create immersive, engaging activities for our residents.

Promoting Connection and Joy
Designed specifically for seniors with dementia, the Tovertafel offers a wide range of interactive games tailored to different stages of dementia and various times of the day, including family visits and challenging moments like sundowning.

Proven Benefits
Research shows that the Tovertafel enhances the quality of life by fostering joyful interactions between residents, care professionals, and family members.

HUG offers a bridge to comfort, connection, and improved quality of life for our memory care residents. Our trained staff uses expert-developed techniques to introduce HUG, ensuring each resident receives personalized care that meets their unique needs.

We've found that HUG can offer:

    • A sense of comfort and security
    • Stimulation of the senses
    • A calming presence, especially during times of stress

Every person's journey with dementia is unique, and we tailor our approach accordingly. HUG is just one of the many ways we strive to create moments of connection and contentment for our residents.

“My mother loves her sensory companion and calls it her new little pet. She snuggles with it and talks to it. You can see that having something to love brings her a real sense of comfort.”–Family member
